• The first step consists of contacting the centre to book an appointment with the Psychologist.
  • During this first meeting, the Psychologist will present the procedure and steps used during diagnosis. This consultation will determine the needs and the assessments to be administered by the different professionals of the SEDAM team.
  • After the first meeting, it will be decided whether an evaluation is necessary.
  • If an evaluation is required, you will be asked to spend two full days or one full day and two half days for the administration of the assessments based on individual needs.
  • The evaluation consists of a diagnosis made by different professionals, namely an Occupational Therapist, a Psychologist, a Specialised Educator and a Speech-Language Pathologist. The following will be required:
    • A meeting with the parents or family pertaining to the individual's developmental history
    • A motor and sensory assessment
    • A psychological assessment
    • A speech & language assessment
    • A play assessment
    • A feeding assessment
  • After a few weeks, the parents or family will be contacted and an appointment will be arranged to discuss the results of assessments. A written report with the interpretation of each assessment conducted will be provided.
  • The professionals of the SEDAM team will also be available to address the family's concerns and questions.
  • Referral to other facilities and professionals will be made as per individual needs.
